The only reason why the government has not declared a nationwide state of emergency at this time is that they do not want to admit that the Olympics were a failure. Even after the Olympics are over, the government's countermeasures against infectious diseases will remain sloppy.

Today, the #IOC members were shown and applauded a film featuring Holocaust survivor Agnes Keleti. It says Jesse Owens "redefined freedom" in Berlin in 1936. But it did not mention that the Berlin hosts murdered Agnes' father in Auschwitz. -> faz.net/aktuell/sport/…
It doesn't mention the murder of her uncles in Auschwitz. Nor does it mention that Agnes Keleti was kicked out of the 1940 Tokio Olympics team for being Jewish or that she survived the German invasion of Nazi ally Hungary by changing her identity.
It does use Leni Riefenstahl's Nazi propaganda footage however. And whoever gave this clip the thumbs up at the #IOC, was fully aware where the show is headed next winter. It says a lot about how the IOC looks upon itself, history & the world. #tokyo2021 #berlin1936 #beijing2022

過去48小時內，許多國家的體育組織紛紛跳出來呼籲東京奧運延期舉辦，包括美國田徑、游泳、體操協會，加上英法的田徑、游泳協會及囊括奧運最多金牌的世界田徑總會，讓日首相安倍晉三與國際奧委會主席巴赫不得不鬆口說出，延期是選項。

不僅體育組織出聲，還有共13國包含挪威、巴西的奧委會建議延期，最新入列的是加拿大奧委會，斬釘截鐵說不派隊參加、澳洲奧委會也告知運動員隔年再戰。
