अमेरिका यांनी प्रत्यक्ष मैदानातून माघार घेऊनही युक्रेन सारखा लहानसा देश, आज सदोतीस दिवस झाले तरी चिवटपणाने झुंजतोय. लढतोय. ह्या दरम्यान दोन गोष्टी घडल्या. एक – पाच राज्यांच्या विधानसभा निवडणुकांचे निकाल लागले आणि दोन – दिनांक ११ मार्च ला ‘द कश्मीर
फाईल्स’ हा सिनेमा प्रदर्शित झाला. विधानसभांच्या निकालांनी एक गोष्ट परत अधोरेखित केली की उत्तर प्रदेश सारख्या महाकाय राज्यातली जनता हिंदुत्वाचे समर्थन करणार्‍या भाजपा च्या मागे उभी आहे.
‘द कश्मीर फाईल्स’ ने मात्र जणू एखाद्या क्रांतीची सुरुवात केली. सुमारे चौदा कोटींचा हा सिनेमा.

Let's take a deep dive if they really represent 'real' voice of KPs or are just used as tool for BBC's propaganda.

BBC selected Jagti Township at Jammu, where "residents" are criticizing the film as a 'political stunt gearing up for 2024'. Let this be clear that this location & these 3-4 ppl are not randomly picked. There is a specific agenda behind it.

Vid started with a 'resident' Shadilal Pandita (accompanied by a few), who happens to be society president. Currently, he is leading a protest against govt for relief demand supported by local Congress. He appears to be staunch anti-BJP by his SM posts & public interviews.

1/ For a new movie, youngsters are driven to theatres by 2 things:
a) Hype b) Curiosity
Hype: The movie is generating surreal hype- Be it via ratings, reviews or word of mouth. Hype leads to domino effect, where you want to be part of it even if you don't know what's it about.

2/ Curiosity: On the other hand, there are people who have a faint idea about Kashmir "exodus" (they have been taught to use this word instead of the actual "genocide") and genuinely want to know what's it all about.

K-Files is not a movie but a reality by @vivekagnihotri & @AnupamPKher. Many scenes including the murder of a woman & others infront of the eyes of a kid is similar as mine. I had gone through same trauma in 2002, which i will eloborate in my book. 1/n

In 2002, Pakistan based terrorists with the help of local terrorists shot dead by mother and uncle. Due to the trauma My maternal uncle lost his mental balance and died in a mental hospital in Srinagar after a year. This happened with many in the valley as shown in K-Files. 2/n
Left the place forever where the incident happened in 2002. The agony of Kashmiri Pandits in the refugees camps reminds me of our days when we left everything & stayed in a rented house long back in Srinagar. Similar scene i saw today in the @vivekagnihotri's #KashmirFiles. 3/n

After being made governor again,when Farooq quit as CM, Jagmohan wrote an open letter to Rajiv Gandhi,warning him of dire consequences if nothing was done to check the Islamic fundamentalism & terrorism that had taken over the Valley.
