My take on what the result of the #TamilNaduElections could be. This is based on hundreds of conversations with people across the State including politicians, journalists and public over the last 5 days. The feedback I got is in this thread... #tamilnaduelection2021
1.Chennai:DMK seems headed for a comfortable win. AIADMK will be happy if they get more than 3-4 seats out of the 16.
2. Northern Belt: Vanniar consolidation has happened. Only question is how much. And has there been a counter polarization of other castes against AIADMK-BJP?

Out of the 78 seats in the Vanniar/Northern Belt there is a tight contest with a 50-50 split.
3. Kongu belt is clearly an AIADMK +edge area. They expect to win around 70% of the 58 seats in the region. If they do badly here, game over.
4. Cauvery Delta is a DMK+ win area.

Despite a rising number of young voters and Indian internet users, political parties have been slow to move on digital rights. Before the 2019 general election we drafted an agenda making an appeal across party lines to prioritize digital rights.

Sample size is troubling?
5 zones, 20 districts, one AC in each district, 10 locations in each AC and 25 samples in each location. Is that around 5000 samples overall? (I am bad at math, please correct if I am wrong).

The poll itself was done between Feb 18 and March 15. The majority of the poll seems to have been done before #Sasikala decided to "withdraw" from politics. Much water has flown since then - manifestos, campaign, candidate announcements etc. The poll doesn't capture these. (3/n)

Mukulathor / Thevar votes are going to play a crucial role in deciding #TamilNaduElections . They were the backing community of ADMK in 2016 but now ADMK having tough job in retaining the Thevar vote bank. If ADMK can retain their votes, ADMK will sweep South Tamil Nadu. (1/n)
ADMK split created dent in the party's Thevar votes. With Sasikala voicing to defeat DMK, ADMK will regain significant Thevar votes but still some people from the community were unhappy with ADMK as they feel that Sasikala was not treated properly. (2/n) #TamilNaduElections
