1/5- 5 years since the chemical attack by the Assad regime on #Saraqib, #Idlib. On February 4, 2018, helicopters dropped 2 cylinders loaded with toxic chlorine gas on a neighborhood of the city, injuring several people including #WhiteHelmets volunteers during initial response. 
2/5- The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons @OPCW has confirmed the Assad regime's responsibility for the attack through its Investigation and Identification Team (IIT) report from April 12, 2021.
3/5- The organization's Fact-Finding Mission (FFM) confirmed in its report issued on May 15, 2018 that chlorine gas was used in the attack on Saraqib based on evidence, samples, & testimonies of the injured and first responders to the incident, including #WhiteHelmets volunteers.
On this day in 2018, the Assad regime launched a #ChemicAlattack in #Saraqib City, #Syria. At least 12 people suffocated, according to UN reports. Despite an #OPCW investigation that proved the regime's responsibility, no accountability has been sought to date.
The #Saraqib attack was one of three chemical attacks for which the Assad regime was found responsible by the #OPCW, with the others occurring in #Lataminah (March 2017) and #Douma (April 2018). 43 people suffocated to death in the Douma attack alone.

#Syria regarding #Saraqib: regime forces launched an attack from south and east, they were able to advance and take some points inside the city but opposition is controlling the majority of the city. Regime forces lack armory which makes any control temporary, RuAF flying around
Regime forces have been massing troops since last night (mainly tiger forces), today the Turkish artillery and drones are not actively involved in #Idlib. Kafrnabel is still under regime control but opposition is advancing in the NE of the city #Syria

Turkish army involvement is minimum; artillery and rocket shelling on south Idlib only, not TSK tanks involved, no jamming regime warplanes. Just moved more military convoys and gave substantial amount of weapons, ATGM, Grad and armored vehicles #Syria

The SNA attack is significant and shows how #Turkey, for now, is opposing the Russian operation in NW #Syria. Question is:what 🇹🇷 think about west #Aleppo as Iranian-backed militias(4th Div, Hezbollah, Baqir Brigade) are the spearhead of the regime forces?
Worth to note that the only time SNA and regime clashed in south al-Bab was in July 2018 when a group of Ahrar al-Sharqye fighters attacked Tadef but withdrew hours later, the commander Abu Khawla was later arrested and the group dissolved #Syria
