Questo piano tattico è stato riproposto più e più volte all'inizio della partita. Lo scopo era creare superiorità sugli esterni visto che la Samp difendeva con due linee strette da 5 (un 4-1-5, per l'esattezza).

Le due mezzali juventine salivano a impegnare i terzini della Samp e questo consentiva di creare superiorità numerica e liberare giocatori per ricevere palla. In altro si crea un 3vs2, in basso un 2v1.
