1/ So much misinformation going around about the dogs. The US military did not leave their dogs behind. The dogs in crates at airport are contractor working dogs that were rescued by KSA and are being flown out by @VetSheepdogsUS. The CDC does not allow dogs from 100 nations in
2/ that includes Afghanistan. The working dogs have the paperwork (e.g. rabies shot) to go to Germany for quarantine for 30 days before going to the US. The other dogs without paperwork were released from their crates in enclosed area of airport (former employee housing) w/ food
3/Charlotte of KSA returned to shelter (where there still are the cats) and they are hoping to recapture the dogs and get them out as well. This has captured the interest of many high profile organizations and is being worked on

Lexi is a big girl, she can be a little bit pushy and a little bit needy, and although she has lived with other dogs, we feel she might suit as a solo dog initially. We will only rehome her in a home with children 12 and older. 3/4

Somehow, we did it! HUGE kudos to my partner for handling all things China... because we successfully pulled off our first international rescue!
Saki arrived to us yesterday alllll the way from China. She’s a healthy, happy little gal ready to take on the world and see sunlight!

She was hidden for her first months of life, because China either shoots the breed or uses it for the meat trade. We couldn’t let that happen to this perfect gal. So she’s hanging with us for a few days while we go through adoption applications.
