Firstly, one can start spread of #coronavirus 3 days prior to showing symptoms, in fact maximally infective a day prior to appearance of symptoms. Both asymptomatic & pre-symptomatic can spread. 4-32% in results by WHO. #rathajatra #COVID19

రాజే స్వయంగా చీపురు పట్టే 'చేర పహారా ' సంప్రదాయం గురించి తెలుసుకున్న కంచి రాజు తన కుమార్తెను ఒక 'పనివాడికి' ఇవ్వడానికి ఒప్పుకోడు. విషయం తెలుసుకున్న పురుషోత్తమ దేవుడు ఇది తనకు, తన రాజ్యానికి ముఖ్యంగా తాము కొలిచే దేవుళ్ళకు అవమానంగా భావించాడు.
Nabakalebara bibhrata & the decision to stop #RathaJatra are not comparable. This decision, though taken by the SC, has been facilitated by the state govt. But only a naive would believe that govt had any real influence, on the people who were responsible for the bibhrata
All said, there is a reason behind this decision. We can only debate the way it could have been conducted and the government's confidence to pull it off smoothly.

There is no conspiracy in either. The government simply was not confident about pulling it off. And those of you who are from Puri, know what has been happening in the last few days, in the shops, houses, and lodges....is the government such a fool?

One of the highlights is visiting the potters colony, which provides about 15,000 new clay pots to the temple every day. They're used for cooking the 56 different dishes that are offered as holy food to the deity and later sold to devotees as mahaprasad.
Men carry the pots of all sizes to the temple in baskets on their heads. They walk barefooted for purity. It's an astonishing and captivating sight. The men must be so strong!
Every year for the #RathaJatra, three huge rathas or chariots are made by artisans in Puri. Traditionally they are divided into seven categories, called sapta-rathakāras, 'seven makers of the ratha'. These traditional craftsmen hence preserve the ancient art of making rathas.
