La risposta è nella parola #RTG, un acronimo che sta per “generatore termoelettrico a radioisotopi”, cioè un generatore di energia elettrica basato sul decadimento di un isotopo radioattivo che emette calore, per poi trasformare il calore in elettricità.
Il “combustibile” ideale per gli RTG è il plutonio-238, che decade in uranio-234, per diverse ragioni. Durante il decadimento emette soprattutto particelle alfa (facili da schermare perfino con un foglio di carta) e piccole quantità di altre radiazioni più difficili da schermare.

En plus des détails incroyables des reliefs du cratère #Jezero et de la poussière déposée dans un ancien delta, on peut apercevoir sur ce cliché le générateur thermoélectrique à radioisotopes de Perseverance ⚛️ (le cylindre à ailettes radiales).
Pour alimenter le rover en électricité dans les situations les plus extrêmes, la NASA utilise un #MMRTG (Multi-mission Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator) au plutonium 238.

There is no rocket science behind #RTG, it is quite simple. In candlestick reversal patterns, the most important thing is how deep the candle retrace. Like between Thrust, Piercing & Engulfing, the basic difference is nothing but the depth of retracement. The thrust 2/n
