I make GIFs, infographics, memes, videos, & maintain large threads fighting the horrors of the Trump regime & the GQP's insurrection; further links in thread.

New threads for a new era. I maintain a number of threads, some re-constituted from my first account. Many of these I store and organize in various hubs.

This is my thread on Trump regime atrocities renewed and better organized into sub-threads:
Trump claimed he loves the military, but like most dictators what he really liked is throwing their weight around & using them to make himself look good.

This series of threads & articles shows how Trump REALLY feels about our military & veterans:

I've been recording what happened on Jan. 6th, the insurrection or sedition or coup or riot or whatever you call it, on other threads, but the more I see, the more I realize it is its own monster, and must be looked at separately.

#TrumpInsurrection Image
This began not on Jan. 6th, nor on Nov. 3rd or 7th, nor even the day of that fateful escalator descent. Trump has had a history of reveling in violence for decades, the most infamous case for a long time being his bile against the Central Park 5.
Despite being exonerated of the crimes they were convicted of and spent more than a decade each in prison for, Donald Trump has to this day refused to apologize for demanding their deaths, and long after continued to do so.

This is from 2019: nytimes.com/2019/06/18/nyr…

Starting a new thread... following all the ways Trump and the GOP are going to obstruct the transition.

I have a bad feeling this will turn into a LONG thread. Image
First, let's dial back to some of the efforts made to steal this election by the GOP. I have a big long thread on the attacks on the USPS and other voter suppression:
Trump also frequently made it clear that he expected the Supreme Court to secure him the election as quid pro quo for packing it with conservatives.

1/5 #FACTCHECK

Myth: Antifa and BLM members are setting fires in Oregon.

Fact: Witnesses are seeing members of the Bureau of Land Management, or BLM, setting backfires to counter the wildfires.

2/5 It is hard to know how much of this is people purposely spreading #disinformation and how much is ignorant people spreading #misinformation.

Many note that they find it unlikely locals have never seen the Bureau of Land Management at work before.

The seventh installment of the ongoing series of #InItTogether QAnon spam campaigns is underway. We're taking notes, of course. #FridayFeeling #QAnonsense #AltWankers

cc: @ZellaQuixote
They managed to (mostly) start at the correct time. 2124 accounts posted 7923 tweets containing both #InItTogether and #JusticeIsComing in the first ten minutes of the spam campaign, mostly via organic-looking sources.
Twenty minutes in, let's take a look at languages. The bulk of the tweets are English, but there's a noticeable Japanese presence as well; 509 tweets (3.9% of total) from 155 accounts (5.5% of total) thus far. Most of the "unknown" tweets consist of only the hashtags and a meme.

#ObamaGate began trending early in the morning today (May 10th, 2020.) We did some digging into the origins of the trend. It doesn't look like automation played much of a role, but we did find a few noteworthy things.

cc: @ZellaQuixote
Retweet network for recent #Obamagate tweets. Accounts are grouped into three main clusters, listed here in chronological order of their first contribution to the trend:

• US right-wing accounts (right)
• Portuguese-language accounts (bottom)
• US left-wing accounts (left)
The #ObamaGate activity began on 5/9 with #MAGA accounts linking a Fox News clip (later shared by Trump's account) that used the term. One of the early adopters, @SheepKnowMore, is oddly similar to banned #QAnon account @StormIsUponUs and was created a week after the suspension.

#FlagsOutForFlynn (accompanied by #InItTogether) trended yesterday (May 1, 2020) due to a barrage of tweets that began at 2:17 PM Pacific Time. Although very little of the traffic appears to be automated, the sudden spike sure looks coordinated. What happened?

cc: @ZellaQuixote
Answer: the May 1st #FlagsOutForFlynn/#InItTogether spam was announced the previous day by #QAnon account @elenochle. The announcement received thousands of retweets and was also copied numerous times. Does "Operation #InItTogether ROUND 6" mean there were previous tweetstorms?
Yes indeed. Round 5, for example, took place on 4/24 and consisted of spamming an armed Pepe The Frog meme accompanied by the hashtags #InItTogether and @WWG1WGA. Once again, the campaign was announced by @elenochle. The presence of Japanese Q accounts is interesting. #AltWankers

What sort of accounts link #antivax websites on Twitter? We took a look at recent tweets linking 25 different websites that frequently feature anti-vaccine content; here's what we found. #MakingInfectiousDiseasesGreatAgain #WednesdayWisdom

cc: @ZellaQuixote
First off, the accounts linking antivax sites appear to be overwhelmingly right-wing, based on the hashtags in their profiles. #MAGA, #WWG1WGA, #KAG, #Trump2020, #QAnon, and #2A are the most frequently used, with plenty of other Q-related hashtags in the mix too. #QAnonsense
Retweet network for the 25 antivax sites. @LotusOak2 is the most oft-retweeted account, and also the one with the most varied repertoire, with links to 17 different anti-vaccine websites. @RobertKennedyJR and our old propaganda pal @Ian56789 show up too (it's been a while!)

It's a Saturday, and the accounts whose recent tweets linking ZeroHedge have garnered the most retweets are @freezerohedge, which pretty much does nothing but spam ZeroHedge, and @StormIsUponUs, a #QAnonsense account that doesn't know what "terrorist" means.

cc: @ZellaQuixote
Despite the single-minded fixation on linking ZeroHedge, the @freezerohedge account may not actually be automated; tweets are mostly posted via a mix of the Android app and the Twitter website. Interestingly, the tweet schedule does not match the U.S. day/night cycle.
(that being said, there are a bunch of high-volume bots that spam ZeroHedge links. . .)

Convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein's positive #coronavirus test triggered a variety of reactions on Twitter. Predictably, the usual suspects immediately decided it was a conspiracy and drew parallels to Jeffrey Epstein's demise. #QAnonsense

cc: @ZellaQuixote
We downloaded tweets containing Weinstein, Epstein, and coronavirus/COVID-19. The third tweet (from @ali) was the first to get retweeted. The accounts posting about the topic can't seem to decide whether the diagnosis is cover for killing Weinstein or smuggling him out of prison.
As has become a recurring a theme with #MAGA disinformation, @w_terrence was the one who actually sent the Weinstein #coronavirus conspiracy theory viral, even going so far as to coin the hashtag #HarveyDidntFluicideHimself to mark the occasion.

Despite 27 months of failed prophecies, the #QAnon family of conspiracy theories continues to soldier on. We wrote about it in 2017 when it crossed over from 4chan to Twitter, and decided it was time for an updated analysis.
#CarryOnMyWaywardConspiracyTheory

cc: @ZellaQuixote
@ZellaQuixote We downloaded the last ten days worth of tweets containing #QAnon, #WWG1WGA, or #FollowTheWhiteRabbit, yielding 458487 tweets from 75776 accounts. What's up with those big spikes in traffic every few days? #StateOfTheQnion
@ZellaQuixote Answer: the spikes are swarms of replies containing "Q sent me" or #QSentMe to specific tweets. The tweets being targeted are those linked by whoever is currently posting as Q on 8chan/8kun, and the swarms generally consist of thousands of accounts.

Where do #QAnon devotees go to get caught up on the latest #QAnonsense these days? While the Q "drops" still get initially posted on shady sites such as 8chan, qmap(dot)pub is the hip site to visit to see all the Q mythology to date in one place.

cc: @ZellaQuixote
@ZellaQuixote We downloaded recent tweets linking to qmap(dot)pub, yielding 16441 tweets from 6269 accounts in the last 8 days. There are some bots in the mix, but we'll get back to that later, because there's a more interesting anomaly. . .
@ZellaQuixote Nearly a quarter (23.3%, to be precise) of recent tweets linking #QAnon website qmap(dot)pub are in Japanese, despite the site itself being an English-language site about a (mostly) US-centric conspiracy theory.

I'm not sure we got the message. Did Q send you? #QAnonsense #FollowTheWhiteRabbit

cc: @ZellaQuixote
We downloaded tweets from the last 10 days containing "Q sent me" or "Q sent us", resulting in 2153 tweets from 1560 accounts. What's up with the spike on 4/18?
1992 (92.5%) of the 2153 "Q sent me/us" tweets are either replies or retweets of replies. 1076 of those are to @SaraCarterDC, all but five of those are replies to a tweet on 4/18 linking an article about the Mueller investigation, accounting for the spike.

In the immediate aftermath of the white nationalist terror attack in Christchurch, NZ, a variety of #FalseFlag conspiracy theories regarding the shootings began circulating on social media.

cc: @ZellaQuixote
We downloaded tweets containing #NewZealand/"New Zealand"/#NewZealandShooting/#NZMosqueShooting and #FalseFlag/"false flag"/#DeepState/"deep state"/#CrisisActor/"crisis actor"/staged/"doesn't add up"/#QAnon in the body of the tweet (as opposed to linked article titles etc.)
This yielded 5329 tweets from 4592 accounts. We then classified the 50 most frequently retweeted accounts into those which promote conspiracy theories about the attack and those which do not. Most of the early tweets are of the conspiracy-pushing ilk; #QAnon turns up frequently.

Don't tell YourNewsWire (or whatever the factual duck that site is called now), but there's a new(ish) fake news site stealing their thunder. Let's take a look at "The Washington Pundit" (thewashingtonpundit(dot)com).

cc: @ZellaQuixote
We downloaded tweets linking to thewashingtonpundit(dot)com, yielding 50750 tweets from 23400 accounts in the last 10 days. The site's "official" account, @TWPundit, is the largest node in the network.
Going further back, @TWPundit is also the first account ever to link to the site (back on Jan 11, 2018). The site receives random spikes in traffic starting in June 2018, with a high volume of steady activity beginning in January 2019.

The Daily Caller recently published an article about a whistleblower's home being raided by the FBI. Details are thin (and there's not much published by reputable sources), but it's already being spun into conspiracy theories involving Mueller and the Clintons.

cc: @ZellaQuixote
We downloaded tweets containing "Clinton" and "whistleblower", resulting in 94169 tweets from 40293 accounts beginning with the first on-topic tweet (11/28 at 9:39 PM CST - prior traffic for this combination of terms was light).
Here's the retweet network for tweets containing "Clinton" and "whistleblower". The official @DailyCaller account is prominent, along with various right-wing pundits and a hefty dose of #QAnon accounts.
