German TV put the #PeoplesVoteMarch at 2.2 million, according to a German methodology for estimating crowds
The method is based on how many people pass every second on the official march route.
200 / sec for 3 hours is 2.16 million. The march was actually longer than 3 hours. Even if you call it 100 people every second you get 1.08m.

Today we joined other groups from Berkshire & the rest of Britain (as well as some from further afield) for the #FinalSayForAll march.
It was brilliant - the weather was good, the atmosphere was amazing, the speeches at the end were memorable.

The good thing about Johnson’s Deal is that it further reduces the risk of No Deal. But just because No Deal is terrible it doesn’t mean we should accept any deal.

Last Saturday, hundreds of thousands marched through London to ask for a second referendum on #brexit. It was announced from the platform that more than a million had taken part. There were certainly a lot.

Yesterday, thousands more were on the march to protest about the betrayal of the failure to deliver #brexit that day.

(THREAD) I understand the frustration of some who say that Nicola Sturgeon should also attend pro-Indy rallies, not just #PeoplesVoteMarch. But I personally believe she does well to stay away as FM. Until #indyref2 campaign starts, every Indy march should stay 100% grassroots.
If she were to attend, that's the only story you'd hear in the overwhelming majority of the Press. That this was all the SNP's doing. That independence is a party political issue (it isn't). It would do very little to gain 2014 No voters, and, we need a few of them for indyref2.
To raise suspicions of "I've never seen Nicola at an indy rally", like she's some Unionist Manchurian candidate, is tin-foil level mad. Keep on organising your local Yes movements. Keep on agitating at local level. Keep on advancing the Yes cause with family & friends.

God alone knows how many tens of thousands of good people at #PeoplesVoteMarch. They will be able to say that they stood up against the lies and the enormous cowardice of Tory and Labour leaders, and did what they could for their country 1/2
Anything more? I just don't know. Spoke to Labour people who described leaderless Labour MPs "hiding under their duvets". My @ObserverUK colleagues have spoken to Tories who know that, if they defend the national interest, their careers will be over.
British politics is being hit from all directions. A fanatical Right that would rather burn the country down than admit it's in the wrong. A hopelessly ill-equipped prime minister. A crackpot leader of the opposition and a failed media.
Best of luck and all love to those on the #PeoplesVoteMarch today! While I’ve still got huge reservations about a second ref in itself (as well as the apparatchiks running the campaign), it’s the failures of the Tory Party in government driving polarisation in this country.
I’m not a Lexiter. My preference, still, is to Remain in the EU. But my priority is to see a Labour government in power which could deal with the social and economic forces which drove Brexit in the first place.

The first is that polarisation on Brexit benefits the hard nationalist right most of all. They don’t want unity - they want to exploit a narrow majority to pulverise the notion of governing by consensus. Remainers can’t play their game if ultimately they want to win.

2) barely reported, spun by the BBC as "EU gives itself a breather", we had to sit outside a room whilst 27 other countries decided our fate, what kind of #brexit extension we would get or even if we would get an extension

3) the key point is this. The EU27 gave us an extension on article 50 because it was in their interest. If they had decided an extension was *not* in their interest, we'd have been out with no deal in a few days. And there's nothing we could have done about it.
Soon we'll be at the point where the disaster that is brexit runs out of can kicking and we finally face a choice.
No Deal.
Or postponing and ultimately defeating the whole stupid concept.

The Brexiters biggest problem has been a lack of understanding between them of what brexit is. Hence the silly use of "the brexit people voted for" as a phrase to cover up "we've no bloody idea what people voted for"
In any half decent democracy brexit would never have been unleashed without a plan being created.

So 1 year ago today, having spent the previous 18 months devastated about Brexit & the ramifications it looked like it was going to have for UK, I decided I had to do more & I set up a new twitter account with a simple aim & this was the 1st tweet.

I'd been following several #regretful leavers (e.g. @HughNorris7 & @timjn1) for a while on my personal twitter (now dormant) & decided that their voices (& many others like them) must be amplified & they must know others feel the same..@remainernow was the result of that.

It promises to be an interesting evening, particularly with the news this afternoon that Railways Minister @JoJohnsonUK has resigned from the government and spoken out in favour of a #PeoplesVote on Brexit rather than the choice of no deal or a bad deal.
