It was a runoff poll under Article 130 of the Constitution of Pakistan. A runoff poll does not mean a re-poll. A runoff poll under Article 130 is a poll to be held between the two high scoring candidates amongst the contesting candidates at that time. #SupremeCourtofpakistan
In normal circumstances, there could be no interval between the first poll and runoff poll thereafter. No new candidature or replacement of the candidate is allowed in a runoff poll. It means the parties were in the position of April 17, 2022. #SupremeCourtofpakistan #ParvezElahi
On the same rational, no new instructions can be issued after 17 April by the party heads or parliamentary party as the case may be. Because this was a runoff poll i.e the continuance of the original poll where no candidate acquired a simple majority vote.
