1)Yesterday's announcement by #ICC #OTP that it has closed the preliminary examination of alleged #UK crimes in #Iraq caused dismay in the #ICL commentator class. Some thoughts for what they are worth (which many may think is not worth much!) icc-cpi.int/Pages/item.asp…
2)Let us begin by stating the clear reality that int'l crim. justice, while still in its infancy, is imbalanced in its application. This is a serious legitimacy problem that must be consistently worked on; ICC leadership, on many occasions, has acknowledged as much.
3)I must qualify my next statements by saying that I am not privy to the evidence and numerous factors at hand (i.e. more info could change my mind easily) W/that said, it seems clear that the crux of this matter occupies the very gray areas of the #RomeStatute & complementarity.
Kindly FIX the OTP issue at the earliest, @TheOfficialSBI as from past 2 days, NO OTP is coming on registered Mobile Number on Multiple Accounts, Not just on one specific account. Thought that today the glitch is gone but its 'Status Quo'. @AmarUjalaNews @thetribunechd @ndtv
By virtue of this, the money is blocked, one can't pay bills, transfer funds etc. via Net Banking as #OTP won't be received by account holders. 3 days already gone, what will it take to fix the glitch @TheOfficialSBI

Just now it seems issue has been resolved. Thanks @TheOfficialSBI & make sure that such a delay is not their during updation process.
1)Please find below a thread response to the online reactions to my recent article published on #JusticeInConflict, save for @dovjacobs article published today that I will address elsewhere. #ICC @IntlCrimCourt @MarkKersten
2)The article did hit a "nerve", as intended and as some have conceded. Specifically, it was intended to jolt the #ICC stakeholder/commentating community into serious reflection re: purpose, nature, & quality of our commentary about the Court.
3)We can be defensive or bury our heads in the sand, but intellectual honesty is in order. The online reactions thus far are not too surprising but nevertheless problematic in their own right. In reviewing and pondering about these reactions, there are two main takeaways:
Day 2 #Gambia v #Myanmar #ICJ begins, w/#ASSK up first. She declares #genocide is a crime, applied by #ICTR to #Rwanda but not to #Kosovo or #Croatia by #ICTY or #ICJ, because of a lack of dolus specialis.
Gambia has put fwd 'Incomplete & misleading factual picture'. Situation in #Rahkine is 'complex & not easy to fathom'. (same rhetoric as we have heard for years)
Complexities go back for yrs. Claims conflict btwn Arakan Army w/5000 fighters & the #Myanmar Army, w/Arakan Army seeking independence. The conflict has led to displacement & security measures such as curfew & checkpoints, applied to all regardless of background.
