#NoMasksInClass is utter nonsense. I’m a Scottish student who has worn a mask for almost a full year and had no problem. We don’t need older people deciding what’s right for us, masks work and are not detrimental to learning. You cannot speak for pupils if you are not one.
What’s detrimental to learning is catching covid and missing school due to a lack of mitigation. I know this because it has happened to me

It's me and you can see I am very happy. This is because I was admitted to the Young Pioneers.
The piece of cloth is a Pioneer's Red Necktie and it's a status symbol (brave, smart, heroic). It probably also stops viruses (well, to the same extent as the cloth masks do).

The government guidance on face coverings in secondary schools now recommends the wearing of these coverings in classrooms.
Not only have the government stopped short of mandating face coverings in classrooms but the new guidance was promptly followed up by a very clear statement that the guidance itself is voluntary. The updated guidance did not create any new legal obligations.
Public Health England recommend that children of secondary school age wear face coverings where a distance from others of 1m cannot be maintained and “there is widespread transmission in the area”.
