@4directionsvote @IndianCountry @Native_NewsNet @indianz "If showing up is half the battle, then the winners of the Four Directions and Nevada Tribal Nations 2020 Native American Presidential Forum were independent Mark Charles, Navajo, and Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer."

@4directionsvote @IndianCountry @Native_NewsNet @indianz Women trilled. Others cried. Some sat in contemplative silence before they applauded. All were inspired by the #MMIW documentary, Somebody’s Daughter, which premiered at the Four Directions & Nevada Tribes’ Native American Presidential Forum in Las Vegas

Let me tell you, anybody counting Native people out & our future generations, has another thing coming. The energy I felt the last 2 days at #NativeForum was reinvigorating, and I was reminded of our collective power, but it’s a power of the spirit, carried on from our ancestors.
Before all this, I was having a difficult time remembering why I am, where I am. Bearing the brunt of elite institutions that uphold white supremacy, it’s really easy to become burnt out & jaded. You wonder if the system is changing us more than we can resist it.
It has been healing being back home on my own Winnebago Rez, and that the #NativeForum worked with us so that our songs and tribal leaders were incorporated. It was much more than that though, it was tribal leaders & activists & volunteers doing small things, for this big thing.

While the Frank LaMere Native American Presidential Forum waits on Senator Bernie Sanders @BernieSanders to arrive, read his "Empower Tribal Nations" platform. #NativeForum #NativeVote2020 #NativeVote berniesanders.com/issues/empower…
@BernieSanders It's not as detailed as his 2016 platform but here are some 2020 highlights from @BernieSanders:
* Honor Native American tribal treaty rights and sovereignty, moving away from a relationship of paternalism and control toward one of deference and support. #HonorTheTreaties
* Reauthorize and expand the Violence Against Women Act to provide critical resources to women in Indian country and allow all tribes to prosecute non-Native criminals. #VAWA #TribalJurisdiction #JusticeForNativeWomen #VAWA4All #VAWA4MMIW #MMIW

Sen. Warren, who during Standing Rock in 2016 (when she was still claiming to be Native) never spoke out to advocate for the Water Protectors. Instead, she spoke sympathetically about the plight of DAPL pipeline workers. How does this "Honor Treaties? #NativeForum #Election2020
Here's where Sen. Warren said. She was very late speaking out on Standing Rock. This is dated Dec. 4, 2016 – the day Obama revoked the DAPL permit. #NativeForum #Election2020 #NativeVote standwithstandingrock.net/senator-elizab…
