Reasons NOT to use #MobProgramming as a software development strategy:

Advantage of #mobprogramming:
1. Increased collaboration on the Scrum Team - all team members are working on the task at hand, exchanging ideas, working together, and creating a shared understanding of the code and solution.

3. Faster Development: problems can be solved faster by working together, leading to value delivered sooner. Much of this happens through the Agile Principle - "Simplicity - the art of maximizing the amount of work not done - is essential."
I am going through old notebooks and junk to clean up and remove clutter from my house. I have a notebook that includes notes from my first day at Hunter, and my first meeting with the team that 6 months later would stumble upon the idea of #MobProgramming

Thread: I‘ve been practicing #mobprogramming for a while. Every day that I am working alone now feels wrong. I make more mistakes, need more tries, forget things, have to actively and tediously synchronize with team members, have to wait for stuff, stumble upon stuff that (1/5)
other people did (alone) which is either bad or not easy to understand, am interrupted and have to switch tasks often, find the same thing implemented in many ways, have to review code, have my code reviewed, have to invest time in merging and rebasing, don‘t exactly know (2/5)

We have been trained to work alone. It‘s our comfort zone. The safest space is the space that we don‘t have to share. That‘s why I understand that people want to work alone. But working alone is just wasteful. It increases the amount of (3/5)

I can estimate how long it will take me to drive to Des Moines, and be "close enough." There are lights, stops, traffic, weather to consider, but mostly it's me choosing route and rate.
Route has speed limits, traffic features, raw distance. Those are not up to me, really. I have limits, but the limits make the trip predictable.
The fewer items are under my control, the less likely the estimation.
Can I get to des moines in 3 hours? Probably, if you provide me a fast plane or fast helicopter and clear weather. Otherwise, no.
