The short version is that because Mercury is closer to the Sun, it orbits faster than us, and so if we were to chart its sky position relative to distant stars, when it’s scooting between us and the Sun it’ll look like it’s going the “wrong” way. But it’s a trick of perspective.

My experience with mercury retrogrades hv bn funny. Since I’m usually aware which house mercury is abt to hit— i prepare myself. Bt last yr it hit my house of “shared resources”. I ws prepared for it! Till I ended up posting a wrong picture of a sniper “shared” to me by a fren.

Note: Luminaries - Sun & Moon are never Retrograde in motion
When a planet is Rx it will behave like its in the opposite sign. Example Venus retrograde in Leo would behave like it is in Aquarius (180 degree opposite) Mirror image. Retrograde planet gives good results after 32yrs
