Today I saw the great work going on in #Brockton schools, as well as challenges posed by inadequate funding & a large pop. of immigrant & econ.-disadvantaged kids. It’s essential for lawmakers to witness the reality “on the ground” to ensure that policy meets people’s needs.

Special thanks to Brockton teacher Jami Milnamow (née #McDuffy), who as a student in the 90s was the plaintiff in the landmark case that prompted the state to pass the 1993 Education Reform Act. Jami is still representative of the importance of meaningful investment in public ed.
