Earlier today, I was a guest speaker at the virtual edition of the Lagos Leadership Conference, themed: Leading in Extraordinary Times, where I noted that wearing a face mask must be a responsibility for all Nigerians. It is important that we understand this. Image
I took a personal responsibility to champion #MaskUpLagos campaign and we recognise that it is a difficult task to balance economics, livelihood and public health in a period like this but this pandemic is a global problem that requires us all to play our roles in combating it. Image
We must continue to have various levels of engagement and communication. We must keep the momentum as a people, stay vigilant, adhere to safety guidelines and I believe that we will come out of this challenge stronger and better.

A staff of ours mentioned how he had to correct someone serving food in a restaurant because she kept adjusting her mask while serving. People are wearing face masks but mask hygiene awareness is low.

Please check out these slides & share with friends & family.

Why are masks now compulsory in public? 👇🏾 Image
If you wear a mask and the person next to you wears one as well, everyone is safer. 👇🏾 Image

It gives me great pleasure to tell you that today, 37 more #COVID19 patients have been discharged from our isolation facilities at Yaba, Onikan and Eti-Osa (LandMark) to reunite with the society. The discharged patients are 19 females and 18 males including 1 Indian.
The patients, 5 from Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 25 from Onikan and 7 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) Isolation Centres were discharged today having fully recovered and tested negative to #COVID19 in two consecutive test readings.
With this, the total number of cases successfully managed and discharged from our isolation facilities has risen to 358.

What this indicates is that while our numbers of confirmed cases are rising, we are also maintaining a significant discharge rate of our active cases.

To our amazing health workers,

You are all heroes, and I cannot thank you enough.

I want to reassure you all that we are doing everything we can to tackle this virus. We will get through this, and we will learn from the lessons of #COVID19, so we’re more resilient in the future
This virus has brought nothing but disruption and discomfort into our daily lives, but the inconvenience we might be experiencing right now is nothing compared to the disastrous repercussions we would be battling if we allow #COVID19 gain an upper hand in our dear state.
Therefore, we owe it to ourselves and the frontline health workers who work selflessly and tirelessly to ensure we get the best care, to stay safe, stay home, observe strict personal hygiene, maintain social distancing, and #MaskUpLagos

Together we will beat this virus.

In just 6 TWEETS, I would show you how you have been LEAVING MONEY on the table just because you do not know how to use a DESIGN SOFTWARE.

So I get that you have been looking for a business you can do this lockdown that would bring in some cash...

#AThread #lockdownhustle Image
#1 There is this simple principle I followed when I was looking for a side business to quickly start. I call it the SHELF test.

SKILL: So I have it forever
HIGH DEMAND: so I can never go broke with it.
EASY: So I can start as soon as possible.

#lockdownhustle #NCDC Nigeria
LOW RISK: I didn't have money to lose
FLEXIBLE: So it doesn’t disturb my day job and can be done anywhere.

I ran several popular skills through this test including PROGRAMMING and #FOREX, but they fell short and I would tell you why shortly

Dear Lagosians, even as we observe the lockdown, we are kicking off #MaskUpLagos; the COMPULSORY wearing of face masks in Lagos

Face masks help to protect us from droplets and secretions from coughing, sneezing etc as not everyone that is infected will show symptoms.

#COVID19
Face masks, combined with frequent hand washing, being conscious about NOT touching our face as well as #SocialDistancing are effective in slowing the spread.

The state government is currently producing about 3 million facemasks for distribution to the vulnerable.
N95 & surgical masks help our medical workers stay safe while cloth masks made to specifications that will be released by @LSMOH combined with other guidelines will help protect our residents from #COVID19

The virus is in our communities, let's take this seriously. #MaskUpLagos

Even with the number of cases rising, we are happy to celebrate our success stories because they show that a positive #COVID19 case isn't necessarily a case of doom and gloom.

Today,10 patients; 3 females & 7 males including 3 foreigners have been discharged from our facilities Image
We are encouraged by these discharged cases and the support we have received from the citizens of the state in the battle against #COVID19 but I urge us all not to relent because it is imperative that we win.
Remember to practice great personal hygiene and join our #MaskUpLagos campaign by using a facemask whenever you are in public.

Social distancing is still very key in stopping the spread and we must #StayHomeStaySafe to #SaveLives

Together, we will beat #COVID19.
