43 people in distress at sea on a wooden boat — Fuel is finished & no life jackets. They departed yesterday night from Zwara, #Libya. I have contacted Italian & Maltese authorities. MRCC #Rome confirmed they have been informed by @alarm_phone.

The boat is only 32 nautical miles from #Lampedusa, but #MRCC #Rome confirmed the SRR is #Malta & the operations is coordinated by Malta Maritime Authority. I have called again MRCC Malta but no reply. 43 people are at risk in the Mediterranean & the authorities are informed.
About yesterday boat in distress with 45 ppl on board: families & friends from #Eritrea started to inform authorities ≈17PM. They were rescued by @openarms_fund at night.

Since 12.40CEST we are in contact with a boat in distress in the Central Mediterranean. There are approximately 90ppl on board and there is water entering the boat. We forwarded their position to #MRCC Rome. We ask for a quick rescue operation! #safepassage
We tried to call ppl onboard at 16.14CEST but no answer. Last contact with them was at 15.21CEST. They were panicking & screaming on the phone because more water was entering the boat. #Moonbird announced that they spotted the boat and sent a Mayday relay
