2022 has been incredibly tough. Almost lost my life to pneumonia. I recovered only to be diagnosed with severe anxiety later. What happens when life gives you lemons? You write. You write your way through pain and angst, despair and darkness with hope that you will be okay.
You write with hope that eventually everything will fall into place. 2022 was about that hope. Summing up the year with a list of essays, thinkpieces and features I wrote on films for @firstpost. Also, wrote features on worklife - moonlighting, quiet quitting for @moneycontrolcom

The Conversation between experienced Archeologist & a young Girl happening in the plane.. Brilliant writing!
Story is quite predictable but NOT boring as well.

Just saw #LaalSinghChaddha this morning and here are my thoughts on it first with some background on why I have been a fan of Aamir Khan.
His first big break was the movie QSQT when I was a teenager in India. Bollywood movies had become stale, loud, violent and uninteresting.

QSQT was a sleeper hit with a clean, fresh young love theme with a amazing soundtrack of songs. The movie became a hit by word of mouth and all of us teenagers were happy to see a movie that appealed to us.
The director of the movie was an IIT grad and a US returned guy that itself was quite a striking fact for young people like us who thought the professional careerist world and show business could never mix.
It was a big day for Bollywood on Thursday as two of the highly anticipated projects, #LaalSinghChaddha and #RakshaBandan premiered on August 11 amid huge fanfare. So, how did the films perform on their opening day?

Akshay Kumar starrer 'Raksha Bandhan' marked the actor's third outing in 2022. His previous two films, 'Bachchhan Paandey' and 'Samrat Prithviraj' were disasters at the box office. So, this film's success is important for him.
