$METIS Bullish Unlock
A few people are bearish about $METIS's upcoming 13 Feb token unlock. I'm not and here's my reasoning.
TLDR:
1. Not all VCs will sell, and not all will sell on market
2. Massive buying pressure post unlock

A few people are bearish about $METIS's upcoming 13 Feb token unlock. I'm not and here's my reasoning.

488k tokens (23% of circ supply) unlock on 13 Feb. Excluding team and MetisLab tokens (133k), this leaves 356k tokens unlocked (h/t @Whit3Rh1n0).

This is a significant amount. In November it did cause the price to dip c. 50%.
However not all VCs will sell on market and even fewer this time around. I assume there is much more OTC demand for $METIS now than when it was a fledgling and unproven network.

So here are my first batch of 5 predictions for 2022. Enjoy!
Prediction 1: #L22022
2022 will be the year of layer 2s. The narrative has started, with L2 TVL now c. $6b and big price moves from $METIS $NETT $SYS $DYDX etc. - I hope you caught some of them with me.

I expect L2 tokens to continue to perform strongly. More specifically I expect:
- $ETH will pump heading into the merge. This will trickle (or gush might be a better word) down to L2s.

Time for an update: as you can see the consensus check regarding whether to incentivize $UNI liquidity on L2 has PASSED.
I couldn’t be more excited. This is what makes the Ethereum community so special imo.

But we’ve made big progress and are receiving a lot of support from all sides to finalize the proposal.
@guil_lambert contributed good ideas to avoid single-ticker LP's raking all the rewards at the cost of smaller LP's.
