I should add that there is no easy solution for #Iran; no certainty about how things would have turned out had Trump not quit the #IranDeal; no easy way to put the genie back in the bottle (although I support a return to #IranDeal, supported in paper now by both US and Iran)
Also the criminality and the obscene repression of the Iranian regime didn't change by #IranDeal, obviously. Ali Khamenei didn't stop being one of the worst criminals in power today anywhere in the world and he will never be.

U.S. recognize it’s not punishing the people. There are humanitarian exemptions. If the regime was really thinking about the people, they could take the money they’re spending on terrorism/missiles & take care of the people.

The arms embargo failed due to China & Russia, which has to do with the strategic accord between China & Iran. Russia supplies 21% of all arms sold in Mid-East. They have interests that the arms embargo is not extended.

The main reason that Payment24 was set up was to help Iranian citizens conduct illegal financial transactions with US businesses & they even charged a fee to get around US sanctions.

The only standing power, with resources, military, and money is the U.S. Europe need to rebuild its infrastructure and institutions. So a meeting was convened at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire for a Monetary and Financial Conference. The U.S wanted to help Europe rebuild.
Today, Trump imposed a new round of sanctions on Iran. This is just months after he violated the Nuclear Deal, breaking the 2015 agreement by both the US and Iran committing both sides to diplomacy. #IranSanctions

These sanctions coincide with the 73rd anniversary of the US nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the only time in history a military has used nuclear weapons to obliterate entire cities.
Apparently, the irony is lost on Trump that he is imposing sanctions on Iran and threatening to launch a war under the pretext of stopping Iran from getting nukes - on the exact anniversary of the day the US slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Japanese with nuclear bombs.
