2 Doch haben all die Paper, Expeditionen und Konferenzen jemals CO₂ aus der Atmosphäre entfernt? Nein! Fachliteratur verstaubt in Archiven, die Politik kümmert sich einen Scheiß um Klima und #IPCC Berichte und Wissenschaftlys finden sich mit der Rolle der ewigen Mahner ab.
3 Derweil brennt, überflutet, versauert, vertrocknet die Welt. Dank der Forschung wissen wir wie schlimm es vermutlich werden wird, aber wenn es um Lösungen geht, zucken Wissenschaftlys mit den Schultern und degradieren sich mit einem „Was kann ich schon tun?“ zu Zuschauys.

Specifically, the discourses here are no. 5 "All talk, little action" (AKA targetism), drawing attention (often presumed) achievements relative to other countries (rather than relative to the goal) and to future targets (rather than concrete achievements)
...and no. 3 "the free rider excuse", hinting that other countries are not willing to do their bit (so why should we try *even harder*)?
