I was proud to serve as the #Tobacco21 bill’s lead sponsor in the Senate. This law puts MA at the forefront of preventing youth addiction to tobacco and nicotine, in order to improve health, save lives, and reduce healthcare costs.

This legislation is needed now more than ever because of the epidemic of vaping and e-cigarette use in our schools. It's vitally important to limit access to tobacco and nicotine products in high school social networks.
HAPPENING NOW: I'm speaking in support of my #SenBudget Amdt 512 to support School-Based Health Centers. Our students need preventative care, mental health counseling, and other social, emotional & medical supports at school #HealthyYouth #mapoli
Mass. has nearly 60 school-based health centers, in 23 cities & towns; SBHCs improve student health AND academic performance
SBHCs:
1) Decrease Student absenteeism by 50%
2) Decrease Student tardiness by 25%
3) Increase Student GPAs and graduation rates #SenBudget #mapoli
