⚠️ A browser extension is always a double-edged sword.

In general, there isn't much to disagree with in what @panosmek has written in this fantastic thread, but here are few additional thoughts:

🧵👇 [1/13]
[2/13] Browser extensions in and of themselves can easily be the source of #exploits.

So, rather than securing your #browser session, increasing your #privacy, or acting as a warning tool before signing transactions, it may turn out to be your worst enemy.
[3/13] — Attack Vectors —

🧐 There are merely two malicious concepts that will be exploited by #hackers to harm you while using #browser extensions:

🔸 Supply-Chain attack
🔸 Man-in-the-middle attack

🚨 PSA: If you're not already doing so, please learn how to do self custody. For little #bitcoin, you can use a mobile wallet, but for larger amounts it's best to use a #hardwarewallet that will give you both security & comfort. Like for your favorite among these top 5 devices:
1. @Ledger has multiple types of devices that look like USB sticks at different price ranges. The cheapest will do the job: ledger.com
2. @Trezor is another well established company with two different products. Again, the cheaper version will do the job: trezor.io

Throughout my journey in Web3, the word "#HardwareWallet (HW)" has been chanted when it comes to security.

However, no one really explains on wallet management to obtain the "best" security.

I would cover a few FAQs with hope that it would help with your NFT management. 🧵👇🏽
2/ Let's first clear up some definitions

#HotWallet - Wallet that interacts with smart contracts. For minting & trading.

Burner Wallet - Wallet for Free/Stealth Mint or interacting with unverified websites/contracts.

#ColdWallet - NFT Vault. NO INTERACTION with smart contracts
3/ What about software (SW) & hardware wallets?

The main difference with HW, is how the seed phase is entered:

HW: on the device itself -air gap from internet
SW: on phone/PC - has internet connection

Hence, should there be malware on the pc, a seed phrase leak could happen.

A ver esas carteras llenas.

Apuntes sobre #HardwareWallet

Qué es lo que es y a mi qué me importa. Por qué.

Vamos a hilarlo 🧵

A ver, a ver.

There are a lot of #Security Issues in the #NFT Ecosystem & #NFTs marketplaces (NFTMs)

1/ When using a password-based authentication workflow, there is no #2FA (two-factor authentication)
2/ there is no support #hardwarewallet
3/ The #smartcontracts of NFTMs must be #opensource and/or provide results of security #Audit
