Texas suburbs are ground zero in the fight for the White House, control of Congress, and the fight for the leadership of the Texas State House. See the results of Reform Austin’s latest poll. #txlege #tx2020 1/

RA News polled 22 battleground House districts, incl. 5 won by Dems in 2018 (#HD45, #HD65, #HD102, #HD132, #HD135) & 17 that House Ds identified as targets in 2020. The districts are mostly suburban & exurban in the Austin, Houston, DFW & Killeen–Temple metros. #txlege 2/
If the election were to be held today, President Trump would win in only 5 out of 22 districts polled by RA News. Former VP Joe Biden would take 7 districts. The remainder are a toss-up, with neither candidate having the support of at least 50% of those polled. #txlege 3/ Image

We're continuing our State Legislative finance series by looking at Michigan tonight! We've only got State House elections here this year, but we've got some exciting ones! Let's get to it!

Chris Slat (D)- RAISED: $14,063 ON HAND: $11,532
Joe Bellino (R, Inc)- RAISED: $9,112 ON HAND: $59,058

@CNalysis Rating: Likely R
This Monroe-area seat went to Trump by 18, but Gretchen Whitmer only lost it by 1 in 2018. Slat raising some good fundraising numbers should give some encouragement to Dems here, but this remains kind of a reach seat for them.

Here’s some of the things I’m hoping for in @GovAbbott’s press conference today.

1. Straight talk w/ public about the need to modify behaviors to slow the spread. #maskuptexas

2. Clear guidance to local leaders about what protections they can do on top of gov’s order. #txlege
3. Plans to waive unemployment insurance rules to make it easier for high risk individuals to stay home instead of returning to high risk jobs.

4. Enforceable sanitation and social distancing guidance for every single open business.
5. Straight talk about how many tests/day we have now, how many we need, and when we anticipate having them.

6. Clear plans to protect our most vulnerable community members including regular testing of elder care and medical workers.
