Depends on which kind of rifle you have. Most employ the .223 (the sniper’s round) or a 5.56 NATO round, but that’s not at issue. How many joules were delivered to the target & where were they hit?
Note I bring up the joules, or energy delivered to the target. That’s where the bullet hits the bone when it comes to inflicting trauma- the greater the energy, the greater the capacity to cause catastrophic damage.

The first thing we need to address is the mass shootings are almost always the result of mental health problems. Mental health problems have skyrocketed around the world, no country is immune from this, whether it's USA, China, or any other country in the 🌎
I'm an American who lived abroad for 15 years in both China and Canada. In China, private gun ownership doesn't exist therefore mass shootings doesn't exist. In Canada, gun laws are extremely strict and gun sales controlled by government therefore mass shootings doesn't exist. 👇

2: There are 3 things you hear about the 2nd Amendment from gun nuts.

3: Self protection has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment. Its purpose was to safeguard the Republic through the establishment of militias akin to those that helped form the Continental Army. To achieve this, several regulations were imposed from the outset of the Republic.

There are over 400 million guns in Americas. How will they confiscate them all? They ROUTINELY tell us we can't round up 20 to 30 million illegal aliens. But they'll have no trouble getting all of the 5 to 10 million AR-15s? And that's just ONE style of firearm.
Once we #LockUpDemocrats we can place them in #GunFreeZone they crave, ensure no #HateSpeech among them, and finally take the time to find out why Democrats tend to become such murderous savages, as exhibited in Democrat concentrated and run cities like Chicago, New York & LA.

My son's teacher just sent out an email including this statement: "I want you all to know that it is not only my job, but in my nature to protect your children while they are in my care and to make sure that each and every one of them feels loved and safe while at school" 1/
I'm wondering if in that statement she is implying that she would put her life on the line for our kids. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that's the sense I'm getting. Now I can't stop crying.Instead of teaching she needs to think about sacrificing her life for my child 2/
How are teachers supposed to teach? How are children supposed to learn? Our brains are unable to think critically when in fight/flight/freeze. Kids don't learn when they're in survival mode. Teachers can't process information when they're constantly on high alert 3/
Notice which Christians say we need gun reform. Notice which ones simply say they grieve what happened in #Uvalde, #Buffalo, #LagunaWoods, etc. The ones who simply say they lament are the ones who walk by the person on the side of the road that the Samaritan man helped.
The Christian leaders who have congregations/constituencies where political idolatry and an idolatry of the second amendment have been allowed to flourish will say nothing about the need for #GunControlNow. #Uvalde should never have happened.

If you care about the victims of gun violence like we have seen in #Uvalde, #Buffalo, #LagunaWoods, #Dallas, etc. then you need to push for policy change. The fact that this many people have access to guns (there are more guns than people in the US) tells a lot about who we are.
The standard responses people give about how guns aren’t the problem & how individual rights will be threatened is tragic.
My heart breaks for the families that will be left without their loved ones because we continue to fail to keep deadly weapons away from deadly people.

People don't generally go around committing mass murder with autos. Sure, people get killed in auto accidents, but it is not intentional. And we all *need* autos for daily tasks, errands, and work (unlike guns) ... so if it is an "evil" it is a necessary one ... daily!

THREAD: This is my Glock 23. (There are many like it, but this one is mine. HT @vincentdonofrio). It does not define me. I surrendered it to the sheriff after the Pulse shooting, but due to threats from an abusive ex, I re-acquired it for protection. 1/
I do not devote my life to it. I welcomed the background check. I would not sell it to anyone who didn’t have to pass one. I do not require a high capacity magazine to use it, nor do I require a device that allows me to shoot more bullets per minute b/c I’m a good marksman. 2/
I keep it in a biometric safe that only opens with my fingerprint. I would happily modify the gun to have a biometric trigger. I’m trained on it earned an expert pistol designation from the military. I am capable of aiming and firing & do not need a wide spray to hit my target 3/
