Pic of yesterday's Russian incursion into Swedish air space close to #Gotland where Finnish and Swedish MoD were meeting at time to inspect an exercise. Good news is they aren't flying in tactical formation, but rather bunched up in a more peaceful formation. #FISE #turpo=#säkpol
Bad news is that that is still two Su-24 strike aircraft escorted by two Su-27 fighters knowingly violating the airspace of a sovereign state with the aim of pressuring them to change their foreign policy.

2. #Russia has security concerns. I agree. History and geography necessitates they are going to be wary of being attacked, particularly across the North European Plain.
3. But if you want to keep your neighbors out of a rival alliance, invading, seizing territories, ignoring security guarantees previously given, interfering with their internal affairs, and massing hundreds of thousands of troops on their borders doesn't seem like the best method

Der Ex-Präsident der #Ukraine #Poroschenko ist zurückgekehrt. In seinem Land droht ihm der Prozess wegen Landesverrat, er kehrte dennoch zurück und zwar in absoluter Kampfesstimmung.

Nicht nur „zivile“ russische Schiffe fahren derzeit vor #Gotland auf und ab. Auch diese „zivile“ russische Airline mit Filiale in #Leipzig machte gestern Nacht einen 3000-Kilometer-Umweg, um sich die 🇸🇪 Insel ganz genau anzusehen.
Ein Sturm zieht auf.

Das interessiert jetzt auch die schwedische Luftwaffe. In der südlichen Ostsee geschehen heute Abend interessante und durchaus besorgniserregende Dinge. Unter anderem bewegen sich sechs russische Landungsschiffe aus zwei Flotten auf unbekannter Mission nördlich von Kaliningrad.
Diese Saab ist auf dem Weg zurück von Gotland nach Öland und zweimal über die russischen Schiffe geflogen.

The things you can do with traditional architecture. A 19th c. post-and-plank (bulhus) on the Swedish island of Gotland needs a new sill plate (neglect led to old one finally rotting out). A few days of work with homegrown materials vs. tearing whole house down and buying new.
Scarf in new parts with wooden pegs (iron nails attract moisture which creates opportunities for rot which is bad), put on a new cob-mortar and plaster it, good as new and will last at least another two or three centuries. All waste organic and can be buried or composted nearby.
