1⃣#Opendata is on the rise, with countries demonstrating the greatest progress to date. The median ODIN score increased by 6.4 points to 48.8 in 2020. This is the largest jump in any year since ODIN began five years ago.
2⃣The 30 top performing countries in ODIN have mostly remained the same since 2016, but that’s starting to change for #ODIN2021. 5 new countries have joined the top 30, with 2 first-timers from the Asia region.

A3: Challenges are encountered in the identification of single women, trans women, widows and differently abled. (1/3) #genderdata @devex
A3: We need to support and work with Women’s Rights Organizations, shelters, service delivery for women and girls to collect the data they have and push it out to the global level and do analysis on existing data. (2/3) #genderdata @devex
A3: If we do find that there is a glaring gap, then we have to be careful WHO we reach out to and HOW to collect that data. Is it absolutely necessary? Can we get it by talking to secondary sources (WROs, police, service centers, shelters, health workers, etc.)? (3/3) #GenderData

People are realizing the importance of gender data and the organizations and networks that make it possible to even access communities. (1/3) #genderdata @devex
A2: Hopefully, that translates into government and sectoral funding to these networks and structures that make this possible.

Focus on do no harm when it comes to VAWG/GBV data collection is also promising. (2/3) #GenderData @devex
