Following on from my thread about @GBNEWS winning “most loved News brand” by being the ONLY TV News channel/programme in the category, some guy tried to rebut the thread by posting:

So I thought I’d take a look at the claims in the article😁

So it begins with the claim that they’re the “most loved News Brand” (already covered that in my previous thread👍🏻)

Note how they provide a link for that claim…

Then they claim that “yesterday” they had bumper ratings - but provide no link for *that* claim🤷‍♀️

They claim GB News “beat” Sky News and BBC News for a few hours in that one day

Now someone looked at these types of claims before but I can’t remember who! (Comment if you have a link!)

Without a link to the data they’re quoting I can’t check that exactly.

Had this shared with me by a gleeful GB News fan🙄

It seemed incredibly unlikely - so I wondered who they asked, what they asked etc.

Went to look at the results of the poll itself….

So the first thing to jump out was that out of 100 media brands, GB News wasn’t in the top 10 or the top 20 or even the top 50.

I had to scroll to the end of the report - it was number 53

So, OK, maybe all the “news” brands were just really unpopular and GB News was the least unpopular of an unpopular sector?

Well, no, that’s not what’s happening here.

While the brands were all ranked together, they were also split into categories - Social media, News, etc

THREAD: I've read the Andrew Neil Daily Mail interview so you don't have to. The headline is all very funny but leads you to believe he just had a big tantrum coz #GBeebies was pure shite. I've read on to show you there's more to it than that.
So we open with this, showing that Neil is "unflappable", has been targeted by the IRA, jihadis...he's not easily broken, that's what we're getting here. But #GBeebies has him in LITERAL TEARS and that's just in an interview. He nearly had a breakdown!
It sounds TERRIBLE, the journalist is HUGGING HIM as he says he couldn't go on! The tech nightmare and how everyone was LAUGHING AT HIM online left him "in despair".

But...that can't be why he nearly had a breakdown...tech drama and Twitter memes...more to it than that surely?

@sainsburys which of Nigel Farage’s views do you most identify your brand with? Being as you are currently financing him and GB news through your ad spend, it seems a relevant question. Consider the following thread a little quiz #GBeebies
• In 2009 Nigel boasted that he took two million pounds of taxpayers’ money in expenses and allowances, on top of what was already a £64,000 a year salary. I am sure your lower income customers will approve (source: gal-dem)
In 2013, and I hope your Muslim customers are reading: “I just have this huge admiration for what the Aussies have done…: 'You're welcome to come here and to have your children here… but if you're coming here to take us over, you're not welcome.'" (Source: Guardian)

The most absurd thing about this Alex Belfield & Jeremy Vine thing is not that anyone claiming to be "THE VOICE OF REASON" almost certainly isn't, but that Belfield is labouring under the mistaken belief that Vine, who RTd notorious far-right crank "Peter Snowden", is "a lefty".
Alex Belfield has form. Plenty of form.

The right-wing YouTuber once called a mother of triplets a "slapper" live on air, & recently referred to the women who escaped fines for walking by a reservoir during lockdown as “hotties”.

In 2010, when he was a @BBC local radio dj, he was forced to apologise after he was suspended for making "totally inappropriate" on-air remarks to Look North weather presenter Keeley Donovan.

Can't imagine why the #GBeebies superfans love him.

*HOW MANY ROLLS OF DOWNING ST WALLPAPER?*

UK's richest 1,000 wealth increase since 2009:

571 MILLION💰💰💰

Crony contracts given to Tory donors:

2.4 MILLION 💰💰

Investment in Andrew Neil's #GBeebies:

71,428💰

Average additional annual income from nurse pay rise:

0.4 +👏
The wallpaper cost £840 a roll.

#NHS nurses will receive a pay increase worth less than half a roll of Downing St wallpaper this year – despite their heroics in guiding the country through a deadly pandemic resulting in 150,000 largely avoidable deaths.

#GBeebies investors may be more interested in #INFLUENCE than financial return: £60 MILLION was raised with help from Libertarian billionaires #Cato's John Malone & #Legatum's Christopher Chandler, & hedge funder Paul Marshall who bet big on #Brexit chaos.

#THREAD about Boris Johnson, dead bodies, Brexit, & Andrew Neil's TV Channel & power.

The news is full of claims that last year, Boris Johnson said “No more fucking lockdowns: let the bodies pile high in their thousands”, which our sociopathic Govt dismissed as "comedy gossip".
Boris Johnson, 2017: "I look at Libya... There's a group of UK business people... want to invest in Sirte on the coast... They have got a brilliant vision to turn Sirte into the next Dubai. The only thing they have got to do is clear the dead bodies away!"
The speech was given to the #Legatum Institute (originally registered in Cayman Islands) a well-funded free-market think-tank specializing in disaster #capitalism, which in 2016, jointly sponsored a report called 'The Road to Brexit'. The foreword was penned by Iain Duncan Smith.

Let's take a look at the "impartial" #GBNews presenters who definitely won't in any way be part of a partisan echo-chamber, that definitely won't in any way be just like #FoxNews, & definitely won't in any way seek to divide even further our already dangerously polarized country:
