2. The new 97- page ordinance entitled: "Procedure for Entry and Residence for Foreigners in Judea and Samaria Area" replaces the current 4-page Ordinance No. 202, entitled: "Policy of Entry of Foreigners into the West Bank Territories", and will become effective on 22 May 2022.
3. The new, more expansive entry rules represent a clear attempt to restrict, track and trace the travel of foreign nationals to the occupied Palestinian territories, control Palestinian population growth & keep data on the land claims of Palestinians holding foreign nationality.

1. Although the Committee didn't explicitly mention Aparthied, everything in its report did. For example, it reiterated the 2020 recommendations of the Committee on Elimination of Racial Discrimination. I will provide some highlights here but make sure to read the 11-page doc.
2. The Committee reaffirmed the applicability of the ICCPR on the OPT including in situations of occupation. It further called on Israel to interpret the ICCPR in "good faith" and to review its legal position of non-applicability.
A landmark legal win for Palestinian solidarity activists concerning the right to freedom of speech and expression. South Africa’s constitutional court rejected the allegation that criticisms of Israel amount to hate speech and anti-Semitism.

The Court emphasised the importance of "the expert evidence in relation to the fine nuances between anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist tropes." Accordingly, the court determined that only 1 of the 4 statements fulfil the criteria of anti-Semitism, distinguishing it from anti-Zionism.
"[T]he Supreme Court of Appeal found that Judaism and Zionism were not synonymous, and that the impugned statements did not connote religion or ethnicity, but only represented political speech that was made in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

Hey @amnesty @AmnestyUK! Your German branch @amnesty_de is distancing itself from today´s Apartheid report published in the UK and states it won´t organise any events regarding the report and its findings. Therefore two questions: 1/
a) If a branch is not able to properly evaluate facts and findings due to national feelings and doesn´t acknowledge the universality of Human Rights (see statement by @amnesty_de own words)- from which point onwards do they disqualify for bearing the name "Amnesty International"?
