On April 25, we remember the historic meeting of Soviet & American troops on the Elbe River. This day symbolizes the brotherhood-in-arms between the USSR & the U.S. that fought shoulder to shoulder against Nazi Germany during the Second World War. 78 years have passed since then. 
2. Soviet & American troops were moving towards each other, smashing the remains of the Third Reich from opposite directions. A meeting between the Allies was inevitable, and it finally happened on April 25 on the Elbe River. This remarkable event became known as #ElbeDay.
3. Every year people lay flowers to #WWII memorials in states–to the monuments to Soviet warriors in Los Angeles, to the sailors of the U.S. Merchant Marine in New York, to the heroes of the Alaska-Siberia air bridge in Fairbanks, to the tomb of the Red Army soldier in Seattle.
