Whilst @SecPompeo initially responded to the attack in horror on behalf of the US, the ruse worked, and as the world was distracted by the high stakes US election #TigrayGenocide exploded on social media and was swallowed without discernment by the Govt. Elect of @JoeBiden.
Everything that has happened since in Ethiopia has rested on this big lie - the most successful disinformation campaign in warfare since the fake WMDs pretext for the Iraq war in 2003.
Alex de Waal has a piece at the top of today's Google search for "Ethiopia" in which he says essentially that the US & EU will use their leverage—their money—on behalf of the TPLF. And that with its own resources drained by the war, #Ethiopia will have no choice but to succumb.

De Waal also says that if #Ethiopia fails to agree to "a cessation of hostilities," by which he seems to mean stopping short of victory, then the 250,000 combat deaths "may just be the first installment."
Peace talks will commence on 24 October 2022 in South Africa. However, #TPLF rebel group must disarm its patsies and commit them to a holistic rehabilitation.

If #TPLFTerrorist comes to the roundtable discussions while retaining its arms, it is a dangerous act of equating the Government with a ragtag militia. This paradox is never heard of.

2/3 Afar looting the fuel, food.. supplied to Tigray region. Why so much -ve stands & statements against Ethiopia. During the invasion no such statements, but only when TPLF is pushed back. Equating the #TPLF with GoE is wrong. Appeasements of the wrong & unlawful side
3/3 prolongs the conflict. Respect sovereignty of Ethiopia. Support a lasting peace through dialogue. Support #Ethiopia in its effort to restore law and order #DisarmTPLF.
There's an elephant in the room that they're ignoring (perhaps deliberately sidelining?). So many questions. For one, if biased powers ("guarantors") from faraway continents are invited to the table, why isn't 🇪🇷 who has been the victim of these "guarantors" & their HoA lackey?
I don't think anyone can truly understand just how hungry Eritreans are for peace. For proof, look back at images from 2018 - openly embracing Ethiopians; looking/planning forward; actively shifting their energy from doubt & imposed wars to peaceful coexistence & shared growth...
At the same time, however, Eritreans have grown extremely weary of & understandably distrustful of "global" powers that prioritize their own geopolitical interests over regional peace/stability, as well as over development frameworks that anchor the longterm wellbeing of people!!
Reminder - 🇪🇹 was untouchable for almost 3 decades (meaning the US/West's best friend, no matter how destructive its policies were within the country itself!) as long as it held the noose around 🇪🇷 - a country whose only sin was saying #NoMore, believing: Africa for Africans...
This is why when Eritreans #SayNoMore & join the call to #DisarmTPLF they're doing so b/c every aspect of their lives was affected by TPLF's warmongering in this region & by the US/West hostility & foreign policies that aimed at suffocating our development & peaceful coexistence!
& why every peace-craving Eritrean, especially those most affected by this - those at the border, forced to give up their youth to defend the country from constant threats - will not think twice about the need to support #NoMore & #DisarmTPLF to find lasting peace for all 🇪🇷🇪🇹🇸🇴
Good Morning HoA, please remember that the *narrative manufacturing* in favor of one group/country over another that you see happening today isn't new. The West has been at it for decades. The difference right now is that *so many more of us* are aware of the game & fighting it!
Right now we have one common goal - #disarmTPLF & #SayNoMore to neocolonial tools that have held us hostage, deliberately keeping our energy and focus on wars, and even more deliberately kept us from talking/listening to each other & understanding that we're in this together!
...when the dust eventually settles - and it will - we will have ample time to correct narratives, and maybe even reach out across the isle to apologize for misunderstanding each other. Right now isn't the time to argue - it's time to say #NoMore hate, war, division!!
