Major Fred Watson is the APD “Training Academy Director” in charge of all training for Atlanta Police. He is also on the GA POST advisory board.
Watson oversees the “Police Curriculum” sub-group for the South River Forest Cop City Task Force— he’s very involved in Cop City.

During the bond hearing on Thursday, March 23, Chief Assistant District Attorney Peter Johnson stated how some of the defendants allegedly had ‘jail support numbers’ written on their bodies, which he claimed “is important because it shows intent.”
Johnson also said that the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, which bails out and supports arrested protesters, is “being investigated as part of the whole thing.”

I began at Weelaunee People’s Park. Ryan Millsap has done intense damage to the park’s accessible paved paths and former infrastructure, and has felled several pines in the process, despite his land swap being the subject of an ongoing lawsuit
To the west of the park entrance and destroyed path, there’s a cut through into a small wooded area where many people set up camp. I was delighted to see so many people noticing this fringed iris in bloom (location marked on the map)

Earlier in the evening, a march of several hundred opponents of the project (generally known as ‘forest defenders’) took over a police surveillance outpost along a power line clearing near Intrenchment Creek.
The crowd set off fireworks and threw other projectiles over the barbed wire fence of the outpost, causing the police to retreat.

The current scene right by Intrenchment Creek and the Old Prison Farm/proposed “Cop City” site in DeKalb County just outside Atlanta - thousands flocked to the ongoing “Week of Action” after police shot & killed a forest defender here in January.
Forest defenders have taken over the police surveillance outpost on the power line clearing near Intrenchment Creek. Police retreated after crowd arrived at barbed wire fence and shot fireworks into the area.
