Á 22 ans, depuis quelque mois avec un mec (qui est devenu mon mari) et préparé à quitter la maison si besoin, j'ai demandé à ma mère de s'assoir et lui ai annoncé que j'étais avec quelqu'un. Et que c'était un homme.
Elle était sidérée, le regard livide, à me dire que ce n'était pas possible, que ça n'existait pas, que j'étais perdu. J'ai calmement répondu que j'étais sûr de moi, que j'ai mis des années à moi-même l'accepter et qu'à présent je ne voulais plus vivre dans le mensonge
Pour vous donner un peu de contexte, je viens d'une famille juive religieuse et originaire du Maroc. Autant vous dire que l'homosexualité n'est ni bienvenu dans les convers ni dans l'espace public. On sait que c'est possible mais chez soi ou dans le secret.

I grew up in a household where homophobia amongst other things was sadly common.
This meant I kept my feelings to myself out of fear.
Fear of abuse, discrimination, & being known professionally for my sexuality rather than my work.
Not any more.

Happy #ComingOutDay!! My coming out story was more complicated than it had to be. I came out to my family after I started dating my now wife. It was rough and scary. Lots of tears. I hid behind the lesbian label after asking my wife to marry me because I was afraid.
I didn't want to have to explain to my religious friends and family why I didn't 'choose' to be with a man and I regret that deeply. I officially came out to my wife as bi and I feel complete and comfortable in my skin. I love my wife so much! She is my rock and the love of my
life. And if I had to 'choose' again. I would choose her over and over again!

Het is niet echt leuk om er als 12-jarige achter te komen dat je jongens aantrekkelijker vind dan meisjes. De puberteit is voor normale tieners als een onzekere hel. Als je daarbij ook nog voor jezelf moet accepteren dat je niet hetero bent, is dat proces niet heel eenvoudig.
Is niet heel tof als je 14/15 jaar oud bent, hier met niemand over kan praten en vage chatboxen de enige manier zijn om met gelijkgestemden in contact te komen.

I'm bi but I don't like the word b/c it implies there's only two genders, but also being bi means straight people think you're pretending to be bi b/c it's trendy and I'm also excluded from the queer community b/c I married a cis dude, happy #comingoutday
I'm a third-culture kid and 🏳️🌈and an anarchist 🏴who votes and a million other things that ensure that I'll feel alienated from people in any community or group I find myself relating to, but every now and again I find other misfits (like @Layalzebub) to hang out with.
@Layalzebub Being an extreme extrovert but also being addicted to truth telling (often at the expense of following norms) is a lonely existence; if I was easier to coerce into other people's beliefs I'd probably have more friends (and clients), but at least I keep it interesting?
