2/9 International partners are keen to invest in trade and transportation, with a view to promoting socio-economic development in the region, but it is important to understand the context in which this development takes place.
3/9 There is an assumption that the problem is lack of trade facilitation hardware and software - but structural issues and their interaction with cross-border and local politics is also important. Thus transport is not just technical, but also a political issue.
EMERGENCY UPDATE: Our emergency teams of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and psychologists, have arrived in #Beira, #Mozambique in order to provide humanitarian assistance to the thousands of people affected by #CycloneIdai.
Their aim is to help the population affected by #CycloneIdai, strengthening the capacity of local health actors in the provision of primary healthcare for those desperately in need.

@AECID_es responde así al llamamiento del Gobierno mozambiqueño ante la crisis humanitaria que vive el país. Se envían kits de cocina y de higiene para distribuir entre los afectados. Se prevé que el avión llegue el sábado a #Beira.(2/3)
Además, se ha ofrecido a la #UE el despliegue de un hospital de campaña y al Centro de Coordinación de Respuesta de Emergencias, un hospital Start. (3/3).
