I've seen a lot of people worried about what's happening to disabled Ukrainians & how to help them.

Luckily, there's great reporting happening & organizations that are helping disabled Ukrainians get to safety.

Here's a 🧵that I'll update daily

US must be desperate. No matter what method US chooses to count the Olympics medals, US is always behind China or Russia. US hasn't played an honourable role in the Olympics, doing everything it could to sabotage the event, but the Olympics is still an extraordinary success. ImageImage
#Beijing2022

Beijing Olympics serves as a showcase of the dishonesty of western lying media. Everything western media wrote was in direct opposition of the real experiences of the athletes. There was a sharp contrast of social media reporting and MSM reporting.
In 2014, when Beijing obtained the right host the Winter Olympics, Beijing had one competitor, Kazakhstan. Few countries want to host Olympics which is extremely costly. Fortunately it was China who organized the game. US was mad: "We must boycott, there's a hidden genocide! "

I am now back from #Beijing2022 and have had a proper sleep so feel ready to reflect. It's been an experience not many people will ever have had or get the chance to have, so it feels worth devoting a little thread of conclusions to it.

🧵
1. Bubbles are hard

I have a whole new respect and sympathy for sports people who have been bubbling round the world. After 2+ weeks, the monotony of even things you liked at the beginning becomes extremely tough. It is as much about the loss of control as the situation itself.
2. China ain't exactly snowy

Fake snow has become part of the Winter Olympics - thanks climate change - but this was the first 100 per cent fake snow Games, and Hebei province is a very dry place.

These were not the Green Games, they were the Brown Games.

🧵IOC just destroyed another young woman athlete, complicit with the Russian coaches who gave Kamila Valiyeva drugs, lied about her test, gave her a ludicrously unbelievable story to tell, putting full blame on her instead of taking responsibility. Appalling treatment of this girl.
🧵Russia shouldn't be competing all all. They were banned for doping. But IOC bent to Putin and created the fake ROC. Why didn't Kamila's test from TWO MONTHS AGO get reported until this week? That's more Russian subterfuge. In which the IOC is utterly complicit.
#Olympics2022
🧵People who don't understand what these Russian athletes go through, how these little girls get plucked out of their families and made to compete for the State. And then are discarded for a new model. #TaraLipinski echoed what I said here after the short program. It's criminal.

Wow. Thomas Bach goes after the entourage of Kamila Valieva.

"She was received with such tremendous coldness. It was chilling."

#Beijing2022 #FigureSkating
More from Thomas Bach on Eteri Tutberidze and co (although did not use her name, but clear who he was talking about).

"You could feel this chilling atmosphere, this distance."

Bach also mentions TV pictures of Trusova in distress and her comments afterwards.

#Beijing2022
"All of this does not give me much confidence in this closest entourage of Kamila...neither with regard to what happened in the past nor as far as it concerns the future. How to deal, how to address, how to treat a minor athletes and under such an obvious mental stress."

Canada has played in every Olympic gold medal final since women’s hockey was added at the 1998 Nagano Games, writes @RBradyGlobe. A small handful of well-recognized veterans on this team have played in several finals – four in @pou29 's case.
But 10 of the Canadian women are competing in their first Olympic gold medal final. Many of them dreaming of this game for a long time, and taking in every chapter of the Canada-U.S. rivalry along the way.

#Aaronblunck, US athlete highly praises #Beijing2022 and condemns western fake news. I tweeted yesterday that his Twitter account was suspended. Many comment say this is due to hacking & accused me of fake news. Granted.

However I hope same scrutiny is done on western media.
I do not wish to become like western media whose lies on China have reached the scale of a black cult. All of China's achievements are crimes against humanity. The Beijing Olympics is a huge achievement just like China's efforts in Xinjiang eliminating terrorism and poverty.
Wait! Maybe there's more to it. Maybe Aaron Blunck was suspended for his opinions. I'm interested to know more.

Jackie's words do well to summarize my most prominent thoughts on the state of figure skating right now. #Beijing2022 #FigureSkating
In recent years, women's figure skating has favoured difficult jumps over artistry / skating skills. Judges and commentators view it as the way figure skating moves forward. Unfortunately, there's a price to the success for these young Russian skaters.
A short history of ROC skaters:
- Lipnitskaya (2014 Team Gold), retired at 19 due to anorexia
- Medvedeva (2018 Individual Silver), retired at 22 due to debilitating back injuries
- Zagitova (2018 Individual Gold), hasn't competed since 2019
