At least three #Ansaru leaders lost their lives after an explosive went off in their camp. The deceased were Bawa, Mallam and Salisu. Bawa was only top Fulani leader among the #Ansaru terror. It was said the incident happened in Damari forest in Katsina state. Details later
Abdullah Makera who deputized Mallam Musa sustained a serious injury in his right leg. A local source said the explosive was mounted by a rival group suspected to be #BokoHaram fighters in collaboration with bandit leader identified as Baushe.

Zastava M05E1 rifles are usually smuggled/sourced from #Cameroon. It can be seen in the hands of various groups such as Boko Haram/#JaS and #ISWAP.

1. Let me start with highlights from #BokoHaram Shekau's JAS. JAS acknowledged the Death of Man Chari Abū Sadīq al-Bāmāwī. He was the commander that issued the first protest against the deposition of Shekau by ISIS. He led the group as a commander & Imam. See Text 73 of BH Reader
Two days ago, @ScholarAkassi1, a leading #BomoHaram scholar, reported that #Ansaru has released its 1st propaganda in Fulfulde.

Sadly, we don’t pay attention and respond to little developments until matters get out of hand.
In addition to military efforts, we must do more to gather reliable intelligence on the internal machinations of these groups and counter them at the earliest opportunity.

Zamfara in the last 7 days recorded less bloodshed compared to the previous week, but the rate of abductions of persons remains the same. There's however, something to worry about: an emerging evidence of the presence of Ansaru in #Zamfara,
operating across the states in North West #Nigeria right into the border with Niger Republic. #Ansaru is a sect, a breakaway faction of #BokoHaram in 2012. The were responsible for the prison break in Abuja in 2012.
