I really don’t understand why they are delaying the opening of schools for another month and insisting desks are spaced 1 meter apart when the same kids can visit crowded markets at the weekends which have no social distancing rules in place.
They have health checkpoints at Bang Nampheung where they check your temperature & ask you to clean your hands. But there is no check-in via the Thai Chana website. So the government will never know exactly how many people here & we won’t be notified if someone later has COVID-19
Schools wanting to open before 1 July will be examined on a case-by-case basis whether they can adhere to sanitary and health guidelines set by the government.

“Social distancing, which will limit the number of students per class to between 20 and 25, as well as frequent cleaning of school premises are also required. Activities requiring physical contact are still banned.” #Thailand
Only allowing 20–25 students in a class at a time will be a challenge. It has been suggested that different groups of students in the school could learn on different days. The ones at home would do online learning. Another idea is to have morning school & afternoon school.

BREAKING: The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has just extended the ban on international passenger planes landing in #Thailand to 30 June 2020. This now means that the earliest foreigners can come to Thailand is in July. Presuming that is they don’t extend the ban again.
The ban on allowing international passengers flying to #Thailand was due to expire on 31st May 2020. Now it has been extended by a month. Exceptions include, state or military aircraft, emergency landing, humanitarian aid, medical & relief flights, repatriation & cargo aircraft.
There are 1,000’s of Thai nationals waiting to be repatriated back to their home country. These flights are not free and are actually quite expensive. The reason that it is taking so long is that there is a daily quota of around 300 & it will take at least until June to complete.
IMPORTANT: CAAT has now signed the order to re-open Phuket International Airport from the early hours of Saturday 16th May 2020. People entering Phuket from other provinces must fill in a form about their travel history & their place of stay in Phuket #COVID19 #โควิด19 #Thailand

The tourism authority is hoping foreign visitors will return to Thailand in October, the country’s high season, TAT Governor said. “Our best case scenario is that domestic tourism will start to improve in June/July, while foreign visitors should come in around October,” he said.
It’s doubtful #Thailand will have many international tourists this year. Certainly not first time visitors. Money is short & airfares high. So TAT will have to make do with Thai tourists & expats. But many of us want to be treated the same as Thais. So abolish dual pricing first!

I’m very disappointed in the government agency that thought that this poster was a good idea. Eighteen people were reported to be infected with #COVID19 today. It wasn’t a good day. But because they were foreigners, they decided to ignore that and say ZERO infections among Thais.
The poster says in big letters: At last, the number of infections among Thai people is zero. Then in small letters it says: But 18 migrant workers have #COVID19.
These people are mainly youths. Most likely not workers. One ten year old boy and seventeen 13-22 year old females.
