Guten Morgen aus der vernebelten Po-Ebene und willkommen zu Tag 2 von #NachtzugAufGleis13!
Ich habe wunderbar tief geschlafen und bin nur 1x kurz aufgewacht in den letzten knapp 9h. Als ich aus dem Fenster schaue, sehe ich, dass wir gerade in Milano Rogoredo abgefahren sind. In diesem Vorortsbahnhof hält der Nightjet neu, seitdem er nach La Spezia verlängert wurde.
Mit +20 ziehen wir durch den Nebel. In Voghera sichte ich diese schöne V200 in italienischem Bau-Kleid.

Wie gestern schon klar wurde, müssen heute alle Reisenden nach Prag in Leipzig auf einen andern Zug wechseln.
Unterdessen wurde klar, dass dies wegen einer Baustelle ist, die unsern Zug stark verspätet hat (momentan ca +60'). Der Nachtzug kann aus Zeitgründen in Leipzig nicht geteilt werden und fährt komplett weiter nach Berlin, alle nach Prag müssen entsprechend umsteigen.
Goedemorgen vanaf Leiden Centraal! Het was een vroegertje vanochtend, maar met een goed doel. Vandaag is de start van #Langstetrein! Deze Koploper is de eerste in een flinke reeks en brengt me naar Amsterdam Zuid.

Morgen staat helemaal in het teken van #Langstetrein. De @rhaetischebahn gaat het wereldrecord "langste trein op smalspoor" proberen te verbreken. We hebben tickets voor het festivalterrein in Bergün (insert lange banken, trekzakmuziek en raclette).

Un tgv fait le même trajet vers Toulouse.
Ne pourrait-on pas shunter Narbone et gagner presque 1h ?

🚇📆 No podíamos irnos de Donostia sin visitar la unidad de la serie 300 en colores "perlita" que euskotren tiene en exposición en Amara por el 40 aniversario de la compañía.

Day one will bring us from my hometown Delémont in Switzerland to our first stopover in Venice, closely following the route of the Simplon Orient Express after Lausanne.
So the trip begins with my typical commute, the RE to Bienne. Thankfully, after exiting the foggy Jura mountains, the visible Alp-peaks hint to a beautiful weather 😄

Jede ordentliche #bahnzeit beginnt an einer Straßenbahnhaltestelle. Auf geht’s zu drei Wochen mit vielen netten Menschen beim #tweinup, #dachnug49 und #pascomsummit. Und natürlich mit ganz viel #Eisenbahn! #latonatorach
Goedemorgen. Na een zoektocht naar 13 zloty aan muntgeld (want waarom makkelijk doen), terwijl je als je iets koopt een briefje terugkrijgt van 10, was ik toch een beetje trots dat mijn tas in een kleine locker past. Met mooie sleutel die je kwijt kan raken... #japsurderailtrip
En de trein gehaald die ik zonder bagagedropoff wilde halen. Puur toevallig eigenlijk. Er rijden hier in Trójmiasto (vertaling "Driestad": Gdansk Sopot Gdynia) veel meer treinen dan ik van afgelopen week gewend ben #japsurderailtrip
Alleen kan ik door mijn bagage (en koffie) mijn bootticket niet meer betalen want dat moet ook cash. Dus moet ik nog tappen. Ik haat contanten 🙄

Vymyslel jsem dokonalý plán. Téměř každým vlakem bychom projeli něco, co ještě nemáme, do toho autobus… zkrátka “ultimátní projíždění”, ale hned druhý vlak dnešního dne si přivezl půlhodinu.
Naštěstí je krásně a to ztrátu jedné z tratí zatím kompenzuje. 😁

Bucharest Gara de Nord. Time for a little trip to our southern neighbours: Bulgaria! The first train of the day will take me to Ruse, located just across the border at the other side of the Danube.
These #CFR Desiro trains surely give an excellent first impression of Romania to international travellers coming into the country - if they can see something of it through the windows that is. Can someone at @mtransporturi convince CFR that this is simply unacceptable?
My view for the last 20 minutes being stationary somewhere near Chiajna on the outskirts of Bucharest. This trip is going swimmingly so far!*

First point: What line again?
We're in the #Ajoie, a secluded and quite France-like part of 🇨🇭, separated from the rest of the country by the Jura mountains.
It's here, where the Chemins de fer du Jura operate a short branch line from Porrentruy to Bonfol.

The 11 km long line opened in 1901 as «Régional Porrentruy–Bonfol» (RPB). Only 9 years later, the line became international, as it was extended by 2km to the border to connect to the German (after 1945: French) Dannemaire–Pfetterhouse line built in 1910!
